Rafael Nadal is set to return to Abu Dhabi later this year for the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

The 19-time Grand Slam winner will be joined by Russia's Daniil Medvedev at Zayed Sports City’s International Tennis Centre.

They're the first two players confirmed for the 12th edition of the event, which takes place in the capital from December 19 to 21.

Nadal and Medvedev played each other in an epic US Open final last month that saw the Spaniard come out on top in five sets.
