Erling Haaland's goal was cancelled out by Demarai Gray in a 1-1 draw with Everton, forcing City to settle for a point at Etihad Stadium today.
Haaland scored his 21st Premier League goal of the season in 24 minutes, finishing well following a fine ball to him by Riyad Mahrez.
The game ended with 11 minutes of stoppage time, but City couldn’t score to win the game.
Following the match, Pep Guardiola said he expected Everton to play the way they did during the 1-1 draw with City.
He believed the Toffees would set out to frustrate and likened the game to the 2-1 home loss to Brentford before the World Cup.
“They made a fantastic goal with the shot on target they had,” said Guardiola.
“We played a really good game. The approach from Liverpool and Leeds is quite different to Everton, but we played a really good game."
