Dubai is preparing to host the second edition of the World Sports Summit from December 28 to 29, 2026, under the theme 'Uniting the World Through Sport'.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council, the event will bring together leading sports figures, decision-makers, experts and athletes from around the world, reinforcing its position as one of the largest global gatherings focused on the future of sport.

The council says preparations are underway under the guidance of senior leadership, with themes being developed to reflect major trends shaping the sports industry, including technology, artificial intelligence and talent development.

This year’s edition is expected to be the most comprehensive yet, with a focus on strengthening international cooperation and launching initiatives that support the long-term growth of global sport.

The summit will also feature the presentation of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Sports Award, honouring leading sports personalities.

The first edition of the summit brought together more than 1,500 participants, including top athletes and officials, and generated millions of online engagements worldwide.

Officials say the World Sports Summit has quickly become a major global platform, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading destination for international sport and sporting dialogue.
