Social media sensation Paige Spiranac has thanked organisers for her invite to the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters but admits the occasion may have proved too big for her. The 22-year-old American was reduced to tears after missing the cut, finishing 12 over par, and admitted afterwards that she will reassess her future after the experience. Despite this being her first ever professional tournament the graduate from San Diego University finished ahead of seasoned pros such as Europe's Solheim Cup captain Carin Koch. In an emotional interview with the assembled press after her second round which featured seven bogies a double bogey, Spiranac said: "I think a bar of soap could have played better. It was just a tough week for me. A lot of stress. As the tears started to flow, she continued: "I'm sorry, it's just been a long week (crying). It's just I think I'm upset because it's been a lot of stress on me and it's a lot of pressure. I got like maybe three hours of sleep [last night] instead of 30 minutes [on Tuesday night]. "I wanted to prove that it was for other reasons than just my social media."Asked whether her experience this week will inspire her to go onto better things in the future, she said: "At the moment, clubs are going in the water. "I learned a lot this week and I grew a lot as a person. I think I'm going to go back home and kind of re-evaluate everything and see if golf is still in my future or not. I'm just not sure if I have it in me or if I'm cut out for this." "But I learned a lot and I'm really grateful for this experience." Listen to the emotional interview with Paige Spiranac below:
