It’s all square after the first leg of the Asian Champions League final between the UAE’s Al Ahli, and Chinese champions, Guangzhou Evergrande. A goalless draw leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the return game in two weeks, with Ahli knowing that away goals could prove crucial. The Dubai side ended the game with 10 men, after Abdelaziz Haikal saw red with five minutes remaining. It’s Al Ahli’s first appearance in Asian club-football’s showpiece game, whilst Evergrande won the competition two years ago.
