Dubai Police adds electric sports car to luxury fleet

Dubai Police has beefed up its luxury car fleet with the addition of the Audi RS e-tron GT.

The electric sports car was unveiled to the public on the opening day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Monday.

The vehicle will be used to patrol key tourist destinations across the city.

Brigadier Khalafan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, said that the Audi RS e-tron GT is their fleet's second fully electric, environmentally friendly vehicle.

He emphasised that Dubai Police's luxury security patrols enhance the security presence in tourist areas during events and community initiatives and play a crucial role in answering the public's queries, providing information, and ensuring their safety.

The electric vehicle features an 800-volt lithium-ion battery integrated into the flat underbody, providing exceptional performance during charging and driving.

In conjunction with the energy recovery system, it offers a range of up to 472 km. The battery charge time from 5 per cent to 80 per cent is 22.5 minutes.
