Over 50,000 people take part in 'Emirates Loves Palestine' festival

Over 50,000 people have attended the first edition of the 'Emirate Loves Palestine' event to celebrate the Palestinian community in the UAE on Saturday.

Held at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, the event was organised in partnership with the UAE-Palestinian Friendship Club and the Palestinian Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

"In this gathering, which expresses the UAE's love for Palestine, we send together a message of pure support and affection," said Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, during his speech. 

The event featured a diverse cultural, artistic and heritage programme, including songs, music, folk performances and traditional showcases that reflected the richness of Palestinian heritage and the diversity of its cultural and artistic expression.

Several Palestinian artists took part in the event, including Mohammed Assaf and comedian Imad Farajin, alongside a distinguished group of cultural and community figures.

Among the attendees was also Abeer AlRamahi, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the UAE. 

The event also honoured several prominent Palestinian figures in recognition of their contributions, achievements and role in serving the community, while highlighting the success stories of members of the Palestinian community in the UAE.

Coinciding with “Emirates Loves Palestine” in Dubai, the Gaza Strip hosted “Palestine Loves the UAE” in cooperation with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, celebrating the humanitarian ties between the two peoples and Palestinian culture and heritage.

The Dubai event also featured a live broadcast from Gaza, connecting attendees at Dubai Exhibition Centre with Palestinians in the Strip.
