Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, has highlighted the important role fathers play in strengthening families and shaping future generations, marking Father's Day on Sunday with a tribute to parents across the UAE.
She said fathers are a cornerstone of family life through their role in nurturing children, instilling values and building confidence, adding that a positive father figure contributes directly to family stability and social cohesion.
Reflecting on Father's Day, the minister said the occasion also honours the legacy of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose leadership and humanitarian values continue to inspire generations.
Suhail noted that the UAE has introduced a range of programmes and initiatives aimed at supporting fathers and encouraging their active involvement in their children's lives. She said these efforts help families navigate modern social and educational challenges while strengthening family bonds.
The minister added the "Year of Family" reinforces the UAE's commitment to family wellbeing and highlights the father's role as a key partner in raising children and helping shape their future.
She said recognising fathers is a tribute to dedication, responsibility and leadership, and acknowledged the contribution of fathers who work to build stable families and create opportunities for future generations.
