The Dubai Mallathon officially wrapped up on Sunday, after turning nine shopping malls across the city into indoor fitness tracks for a full month.
Over 40,000 people took part in the community-wide event, logging more than 120 million steps in total.
The highlight came at Dubai Hills Mall, where the closing event saw 1,392 participants set a new Guinness World Record for the most runners in a mall run event — marking a major milestone in the city’s growing list of global achievements.
The final day also featured a full 42 km marathon with 40 runners competing across different categories, all within the comfort of an air-conditioned mall.
Launched in early August, the Mallathon is part of the ‘Year of Community’ and supports Dubai’s Social Agenda 33 and Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
Organisers say the goal is to promote a healthier, more active lifestyle and build stronger community connections through sport.
