The Dubai Mallathon is set to become an annual fixture, with the event now running each year from June 15 to September 15, across various malls in the city, starting from 2026.
This follows a directive from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
The move comes after the huge success of the inaugural month-long edition, which concluded on August 31, drawing over 40,000 participants and logging more than 120 million steps across nine malls.
The event also set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of runners in a mall-based race, with 1,392 competitors taking part in the race at Dubai Hills Mall on the final day.
Sheikh Hamdan praised the Mallathon as a model for community engagement and highlighted its role in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
Dubai authorities say the expanded three-month format aims to widen participation and make fitness more accessible to all segments of society.
