Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, the 4th edition of the Al Sila Marine Festival will be held from December 4th to 8th, 2024, at Al Sila Beach in the Al Dhafra Region of Abu Dhabi.
Organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, the five-day festival will feature 73 traditional and modern marine competitions, alongside beach and sports races.
Highlights include the Al Sila 43-ft Dhow Race, the Al Sila Sheri Fishing contest, Barakah Traditional Sailboat Race, fly-fishing contests, and a variety of sports such as cycling, beach volleyball, and beach soccer.
The festival aims to preserve the UAE’s maritime and desert heritage, showcasing Emirati traditions and customs while promoting cultural exchange and encouraging younger generations to engage with their heritage.
It also supports tourism and economic development in the Al Dhafra region by spotlighting the UAE’s coastal cities and islands.
