The island-wide curfew was imposed on Monday after a spate of mob attacks on Muslim communities left one person dead and dozens of shops and mosques destroyed.
This comes as the Sri Lankan army launched an investigation after a video posted on social media showed a man dressed as a soldier walking away seconds before a mob attacked a building.
In a statement, the army said they were verifying the authenticity of the video, while rejecting allegations that the attacks took place despite the presence of security forces.
