Six dead in Indonesia post-election unrest

At least six people have died and 200 more injured after protestors clashed with security forces in the Indonesian capital over the latest election results.

Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan said hospitals were conducting post-mortems to determine the cause of the deaths.

Hundreds of supporters of former general Prabowo Subianto took to the streets to object to President Joko Widodo's victory.

The police were forced to fire tear gas after protesters burned vehicles and threw rocks at the officers, and have detained more than 20 suspected provocateurs. 

According to reports, protesters were still locked in a tense stand-off with the police in Jakarta on Wednesday.
