Qatar’s Ministry of Defence says its armed forces have shot down two Iranian aircraft and intercepted multiple missiles and drones targeting the country.
In a statement carried by Qatar News Agency, the ministry said the Qatar Amiri Air Force downed two Sukhoi Su-24 fighter jets approaching from Iran.
Air defences also intercepted seven ballistic missiles, while five drones were destroyed by the air force and Amiri Naval Forces after targeting several locations.
The ministry said all incoming threats were neutralized before reaching their targets, under operational plans activated as soon as the attacks were detected.
It added that the armed forces are fully capable of defending Qatar’s sovereignty and urged the public to remain calm and follow official guidance.
