The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The secretariat congratulated both countries for reaching this agreement, expressing hope that it will restore understanding, harmony, foster mutual trust and advance cooperation.
The organisation also commended the mediation efforts by Qatar and Türkiye in reaching this agreement.
Afghanistan and Pakistan agreed to an immediate ceasefire during talks in Doha, both sides said on Sunday, after a week of fierce border clashes.
Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif posted that the ceasefire "has been finalised," stating that both sides would meet again on October 25 in Istanbul to discuss "detailed matters".
