A Lebanese soldier was killed, and an officer and another soldier were wounded when a suspicious object exploded in an army vehicle in the southern Lebanese town of Mansouri, the Lebanese army said on Saturday.
The Israeli military said on Saturday the vehicle had driven over an explosive device in the Al-Mansouri area, adding a review found the device did not belong to the Israeli military and was most likely placed there by Hezbollah.
The Israeli military said its soldiers had not been present in the area recently and the Lebanese army vehicle had entered what it described as the security zone without prior coordination with Israel, as required under an existing coordination mechanism.
The Lebanese army said it was continuing to investigate the incident and did not provide further details.
