Jordanian air defences intercepted and downed eight missiles launched from Iran on Thursday, the state news agency reported, adding there are no casualties or damages.
Sirens were sounded in Jordan after the missiles were detected in Jordanian airspace, a government spokesperson confirmed.
He added that the Jordanian Armed Forces are on high alert and ready to deal with any threat targeting the country's security.
