India votes in phase 3 of national election

Voting is underway for the third phase of India’s general election.

Around 188 million people are eligible to vote in the latest round, which covers 117 constituencies in 15 states and federally-controlled territories.

Among the star candidates are BJP chief Amit Shah, who is contesting from Gujarat's Gandhinagar and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi from Kerala's Wayanad.

It's the largest phase of the election, which began on April 11 and will end on May 19. Votes will be counted on May 23.
