Nine people, including a policeman, have been killed and 28 others injured in a shooting incident near a mosque in Oman's capital Muscat.
The Royal Oman Police said that five people, a policeman and the three attackers were killed in the incident in the Al Wadi Al Kabir area on Monday night.
The authority expressed its condolences to the victims' families and said an investigation into the circumstances of the incident was underway.
It also emphasised the importance of "obtaining information from official sources and disregarding unreliable information".
The incident left 5 people dead, including ROP serviceman, and 28 others from different nationalities injured. The injured were transferred to health institutions for treatment. The three aggressors were killed in the shooting. Investigation into the incident is still going on.
