Two strong earthquakes were recorded in the Red Sea region near the coasts of Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced on Saturday.
The USGS stated on its website that the first earthquake measured 4.7 on the Richter scale, and was located about 197 km northeast of Tokar city, in the Sudanese Red Sea State.
The second earthquake measured 4.2 on the Richter scale and was located about 174 km northeast of the same city.
The Saudi Geological Survey said on its website that seismic monitoring stations recorded a 4.7-magnitude earthquake in the middle of the Red Sea, 161 km west of Al Lith Governorate, in the Makkah Al Mukarramah region, at a depth of 10.4 km, at 12:09 am (1:09 am UAE time) on Saturday.
