Two jets of the Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team have collided in the south Indian city of Bengaluru, just a day before the aero show.
One of the three pilots have reportedly died. The two others, who ejected safely, are being treated for their injuries.
The accident took place during a rehearsal session at the Yelahanka airbase in north Bengaluru.
Video footage on social media platforms showed thick, black plumes of smoke coming from the airbase.
Aero India 2019 will be held between February 20 and 24.
