Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and MD & Group CEO of ADNOC, has condemned Iran’s aggression, saying they will not weaken the UAE’s resolve and stressing that the country is not a party to the ongoing regional conflict.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Al Jaber highlighted that the UAE bases its policies on national priorities and a commitment to political solutions, emphasising the nation’s diplomatic efforts to prevent conflict in the region.
He added that Iran’s disruption of the Strait of Hormuz is a global economic threat, not just a regional one, with potential to drive up inflation, slow growth, and increase living costs.
“Our operations have been impacted and we will continue to do everything possible to mitigate the situation as we assess, location by location, product by product and shipment by shipment. We will continue to act as a responsible, reliable energy supplier to the world,” he said.
Dr. Al Jaber added that once the aggression ends, the UAE is ready to quickly ramp up production to full capacity, reaffirming that these actions will not shake the nation’s determination.
