The UAE’s new crude oil pipeline bypassing the Strait of Hormuz is now 50 per cent complete, as the country accelerates its delivery towards 2027.

The update was shared by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, during the live-streamed 'AC Front Page' event hosted by American think tank The Atlantic Council.

Dr. Al Jaber, who also serves as ADNOC’s Managing Director and Group CEO, warned of the dangerous precedent set by the closure of the Hormuz strait.

He added that some of ADNOC's facilities had been directly targeted during the Iran war and the assessment of damage was ongoing.

Despite this, the company adapted to the crisis, said Dr. Al Jaber. "The best proof of how we have adapted to the situation is in our financial results."

Dr. Al Jaber also pointed to strengthening ties between the UAE and the United States, describing the partnership as critical for energy security, industrial growth and investment.
