Dubai Police have confiscated 32 jet skis during a major inspection at Fishing Harbour 3, targeting rental companies as part of a wider crackdown on marine safety violations.

The field campaign, led by the Ports Police Station, aimed to enforce public safety standards, ensure transparent rental practices, and maintain a secure environment for recreational watercraft users.

The jet skis were seized due to severe damage, prior involvement in accidents, or being unfit for use. In addition, 39 violations were issued for breaches such as unsafe operations and failure to adhere to designated routes.

Inspectors also found administrative issues at several businesses, including poor recordkeeping and unclear rental procedures. Warnings were issued, and reports have been sent to licensing and legal authorities for follow-up.

Police are reminding operators that renting out unsafe or unlicensed watercraft can lead to fines of up to AED 5,000. Additional penalties apply for obstructing inspections or failing to renew expired licences.

Authorities are calling on all jet ski rental firms to carry out regular safety checks and ensure full compliance with operating regulations.
