Umrah advisory issued for UAE citizens

WAM

The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) has emphasised the importance of prior planning before performing Umrah during Ramadan.

Emirati nationals are being urged to go through the travel instructions on the ministry’s website and review entry requirements for Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, pilgrims must register on the Moqeem platform at least eight hours before travelling to the Kingdom, in order to perform Umrah and access related facilities.

The ministry has also highlighted the importance of downloading the Tawakalna and Eatmarna apps to obtain Umrah permits, noting that unvaccinated individuals are allowed to perform Umrah provided they are COVID-19 free.

UAE citizens and their families wishing to travel must ensure that they register with the Tawajudi service through the ministry’s website or its smart app, UAEMOFAIC.

MOFAIC's hotline - 0097180024 - will help citizens secure emergency passports in case of loss, damage or expiry of the document.
