The UAE's "Lifeline" water project that aims to supply clean, drinkable water to over 600,000 Palestinians in the southern parts of the Gaza Strip is progressing well.
During a site visit of the new 7.5-km pipeline that connects desalination plants in Egypt's Rafah to Al Mawasi in Khan Younis, a group of journalists were briefed on how the project will provide each person in the region with 15 litres of fresh water daily.
The "Lifeline" project is an extension of the UAE's efforts to address Gaza's water crisis. So far, it has seen the building of desalination plants, delivery of water tankers and building of wells and water networks.
The UAE has also implemented other urgent infrastructure projects to ensure sustained humanitarian support to meet the population’s basic needs.
