UAE welcomes ceasefire between Rwanda and DR Congo

The UAE has welcomed the ceasefire announcement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the North Kivu region.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State, praised the historic ties between the UAE and Africa and commended the efforts of Angola and the African Union in facilitating this agreement.

He emphasised that this ceasefire is a crucial step toward achieving security, stability and prosperity in the region.

Sheikh Shakhboot highlighted the importance of maintaining a permanent ceasefire and underscored the need for continued dialogue to build trust and secure lasting peace.
