UAE, Syrian foreign ministers discuss latest developments

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a phone call with his newly appointed Syrian counterpart to discuss the latest developments in Syria.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the importance of preserving Syria's unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty during the talks with Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Syrian Transitional Government.

He reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting efforts for a comprehensive and inclusive transition that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, development and dignity.

The two ministers also focused on strengthening the fraternal ties between the UAE and Syria, particularly in areas of mutual interest.
