UAE reiterates call for Gaza ceasefire at UN Security Council

UAE Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Lana Nusseibeh, has reiterated the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that civilians cannot be abandoned and the security council must step up. 

Speaking during a meeting at the UN Security Council, she emphasised there is no hierarchy of civilian lives and called for the release of all hostages and humanitarian access to the region.

Nusseibeh also called for fuel for hospitals and desalination plants, water and adherence to international humanitarian law.
