The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres have discussed measures to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
They emphasised intensifying diplomatic efforts to open humanitarian corridors and establish a ceasefire to enable the unobstructed delivery of relief and medical aid to Gaza.
During the phone call, the two sides highlighted the grave potential repercussions of the crisis on regional peace, stability and security.
The talks also touched on the role of the United Nations in coordinating with key international stakeholders to ensure lasting peace between Israel and Palestine, and to achieve sustainable security and stability in the Middle East.
