UAE, Israel to mutually accept vaccination certificates

WAM

Travel between the UAE and Israel is set to become easier as the two countries agreed to mutually recognise their COVID-19 vaccination certificates.

The move is part of efforts to facilitate "easy travel" between the two countries as they boast of "highest rates of COVID-19 vaccinations per capita".

According to the national news agency WAM, the move will help the countries develop "specific procedures ensuring the unrestricted movement of vaccinated individuals".

The agreement was signed virtually by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention, and Nitzan Horowitz, Israeli Minister of Health.

In addition, the MoU will also see an exchange of knowledge and a sharing of technology in health systems.
