Medical facilities run by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) are gradually restarting services after being suspended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Specialized hospital services will resume from Sunday but plastic surgeries will remain suspended except in urgent cases.
Outpatient clinics will also reopen based on an appointment system.
Strict preventive measures are in place to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.
"The decision on the resumption of the work has been made after taking the necessary precautions, including enhancing the operational readiness and resources capacity supported with policies, procedures, and an organisation guide," said Dr Kalthoum Al Balushi, Director of the Hospitals Department at MoHAP.
The list of the resumed services include: cardiology, paediatric, general surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, orthopaedics, mental health services and rehabilitation programmes; while the ENT department will continue to handle emergency cases.
