UAE declares 3-day mourning over death of Queen Elizabeth II

The UAE has announced that flags will fly at half-mast at the country's embassies and at public and private sector offices for three days, starting today, to mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a statement, the presidential office said the flags will fly at half-mast until September 12.

The Court expressed its sincere condolences to King Charles III and the royal family and to the people of the UK on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Meanwhile, Dubai hosted a 96-gun salute, conducted by a UK Royal Naval Ship, in honour of the Queen at 4:00 pm on Friday.

"One round for each year of her life," read the post from the Dubai Media Office.
