The UAE has expressed its sincere condolences to the family of Moldovan-Israeli dual national Zvi Koga, who was murdered in the country a few days ago.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its appreciation to Turkish authorities for their cooperation in arresting the perpetrators.
The UAE announced on Monday three Uzbek nationals were arrested for their involvement in the crime.
The suspects were reportedly caught in Istanbul by Turkish intelligence and police after they left the airport, at the request of the UAE government. Turkey extradited the suspects to the UAE, a Turkish source said.
The deceased was reported missing by his family, who said he'd been out of contact from Thursday, after which an investigation team was assembled. "This led to the discovery of the victim’s body, its identification, arrest of the perpetrators, and the initiation of the necessary legal procedures," the MoI said on Sunday.
Details of the crime have not yet been disclosed.
The Ministry "commended the exceptional diligence and professionalism demonstrated by the relevant Emirati authorities overseeing the case and managing it in a way that does not affect the course of the ongoing investigations."
It also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to upholding tolerance and peaceful coexistence among diverse religions and cultures.
