The UAE has strongly condemned an Iranian attack on a national carrier affiliated with ADNOC while transiting Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described it as a serious violation of international maritime law and a threat to global energy security.
The ministry said the vessel was targeted by two drones, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident.
The UAE warned that such actions pose a threat not only to regional stability, but also to global energy markets. It emphasized that targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz constitutes an act of piracy by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The UAE further stressed the need for Iran to halt these unprovoked attacks, ensure its full commitment to an immediate cessation of all hostilities, and the complete and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in order to safeguard regional security, and maintain the stability of the global economy and trade.
