His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the board of directors of Dubai Chambers, who will "propose mega initiatives to spearhead Dubai's economy, ultimately creating a robust business environment".

It follows the restructuring of the body into three entities - Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and Dubai Chamber of International Trade.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, His Highness added that the move will "boost international trade, advance Dubai's digital economy, protect the interests of entrepreneurs and business owners, and support the government's efforts to establish Dubai as the world's best economic system".

Juma Al Majid has been appointed the Honorary Chairman of Dubai Chamber.

Abdulaziz Al Ghurair has been named the Chairman of Dubai Chamber; Sultan bin Sulayem as Chairman of Dubai Chamber of International Trade; and Omar Al Olama as Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

"In the light of the changes sweeping across the globe, we need to adopt new business models that enable us to raise our sustainability and attain continued success," His Highness said, adding, "Deploying innovative operational frameworks and developing flexible legislations will help us foster further growth and achievement in Dubai’s economy."

It was in March that Highness had approved the restructuring of the Dubai Chambers.
