Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has held talks with Malawi President, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, at the beginning of his working visit to the country.
During the meeting in the capital, Lilongwe, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields, particularly in the economic, commercial, investment and development sectors.
The two sides also signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across various sectors. It included diplomatic training, trade investment, investment in the minerals sector, digital learning and the establishment of the joint UAE-Malawian Business Council.
Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE's efforts to develop partnerships that support the aspirations for sustainable growth and prosperity of both sides.
He added that it reflects the country's commitment to deepening economic partnerships with African countries.
A strategic corridor parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road, featuring a 15 km-long elevated carriageway with three lanes in each direction, is among key projects approved by Dubai’s Executive Council, alongside AED 18 billion worth of broader development initiatives.
