Sharjah Police have recovered stolen goods worth around AED 500,000 in less than 3 hours after being alerted that a house of an athlete was burgled.

According to the officials, the athlete was out of the country for a training camp when the incident occurred.

A specialised team was immediately despatched to collect crucial evidence from the scene of crime, following which they were able to identify the culprits.

The officials arrested them and recovered the goods in record time.

Sharjah Police did not reveal the identity of the athlete or where he lived, or how many arrests were made.

The authority urged the community to ensure their properties are well secured and surveillance measures are in place before going out of the country, and to refrain from posting holiday photos on social media as it exposes them to burglars.
