All residents returning to Dubai must quarantine themselves for 14 days either at their home or a hotel.

That’s according to a new set of guidelines issued by the Department of Tourism and Commerce marketing (Dubai Tourism), which said pre-arrival procedures will be provided during and after they’ve booked their flight ticket.

All returning residents will be tested for COVID-19 at the Dubai airport, install the COVID-19 DXB App, as well as sign an undertaking.

Residents who choose hotel quarantine can book from a list provided on the official website and bear the cost of their stay.

Those who pick home quarantine must ensure it meets all conditions specified under the guidelines.

The immigration and luggage pick-up processes will be under strict safety control, with transport provided for those choosing hotel quarantine.

They will also be connected to a tele-doctor 24|7 through a dedicated app, and will be directed to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in case of emergencies.

It comes as the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship announced an initiative to facilitate the return of 200,000 residents from different countries to the UAE.
