H.H. Sheikh Ahmed reviews progress of Hatta Development Plan

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has reviewed the progress of the first two phases of the Hatta Master Development Plan.

During his visit, Sheikh Ahmed toured the Hatta Border Crossing, which handles entry and exit procedures for 350,000 travellers monthy, and Hatta Heritage Village and Sharia Farms, which contains the oldest documented charitable endowment in the history of the UAE dating back to 130 years.

He also checked the expansion plans at the Hatta Hospital and visited a private school in the area that has 500 students.

Developed in accordance with the highest global standards of excellence, the Hatta projects form part of Dubai’s ambitious development plan outlined by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

It seeks to enhance services for UAE citizens, residents and visitors, and raise the quality of life of all segments of society.

Sheikh Ahmed was also briefed about the development of archaeological sites in the region, various projects at the Hatta Municipality and the construction of DEWA's hydroelectric power plant at the Hatta Dam that will produce 250 megawatts (MW), and a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours.
