Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has teamed up with Careem to offer free bike rentals for residents and tourists participating in the Dubai Ride event on Sunday, November 10.

Participants can rent bikes for free from two pop-up stations near the Museum of the Future and the Financial Centre Road, using the code DR24 on the Careem app.

The bikes are available on a first-come, first-served basis from 2:00 am to 8:00 am on November 10, 2024. Participants can also pick up bikes from any of Careem’s 197 stations across Dubai.

Sami Amin, Senior Director of Operations at Careem, said the initiative aims to make it easier for everyone to join the event, whether they have their own bike or not.

Abdulrahman Mohammad Aljanahi, Director of Roads Right of Way, Traffic & Roads Agency and Head of Sports Team at the RTA, added that the Dubai Ride event encourages healthier lifestyles and supports the city’s goal of being more bicycle-friendly.

While card details are required for security, no charges will apply for bike rentals. Participants must bring their own helmets and register on the Dubai Ride website.

The Dubai Ride routes will open at 5:00 am, with cyclists starting at 6:15 am and finishing at 8:00 am.
