Reports suggest closing the Marina loop service last month, thereby reducing headway from 12 to eight minutes, has upped the daily ridership by 15%, to about 15,000 passengers per day. Meanwhile, safety remains top priority, with more than 1,000 cameras monitoring movement inside trams and stations. The Dubai Tram runs 11 trains along the 11-km track which starts from Dubai Marina and passes through JBR, Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, and up to the Tram Depot near the Dubai Police Academy.
