A Dubai Police helicopter landed on Sheikh Zayed Road on Monday evening to airlift an accident victim to hospital.

The injured person was taken to hospital from the busy highway as traffic was halted during the rescue.

Videos posted online show the moment the helicopter takes off, on a stretch of usually busy highway between Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lakes Towers.

The road was closed for around 15 minutes as rescuers secured the road before safely attending to the victim.
