Dubai Cares has pledged AED 7.3 million to help restore schools in Mozambique.
The funding will go towards education in areas affected by catastrophic floods caused by Cyclone Idai.
According to initial estimates, the storm destroyed over 3,000 classrooms leaving 263,000 children out-of-school.
Speaking at UNICEF's Generation Unlimited Global Board Meeting, Tariq Al Gurg, CEO at Dubai Cares, said: "We look forward to providing temporary learning spaces and psychosocial support material and training to affected learners and teachers."
