Dubai chosen as the 2020 Capital of Arab Media

Dubai was chosen by the Arab Information Ministers Council (WAM)

Dubai has been selected as the 2020 Capital of Arab Media by the Arab Information Ministers Council.

According to national news agency WAM, the decision was made during its 50th Ordinary Session, which was chaired by Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chairman of the National Media Council, says that the move is further recognition of the prominent media stature held by Dubai.

He also added that the emirate’s selection is also a reflection of the pivotal role played by the UAE in the region’s media sector, as well as the country’s efforts in supporting ambitious media projects and initiatives.
