Driver alert: Dubai announces temporary closures, diversions

Temporary road closures and diversions have been put in place in Dubai over the weekend.

In a series of Tweets, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) tipped drivers to expect long delays on the Business Bay Crossing bridge from Deira to Bur Dubai.

It will be from midnight on Friday, December 18 until 6:00 am on Saturday, December 19.

Motorists have been advised to use Garhoud bridge, Al Maktoum bridge and Ras Al Khor Road instead. 

The authority also announced that Al Shindagha Tunnel will be closed to traffic between 12:30 am until 8:00 am on Saturday.

Drivers have been advised to take Al Maktoum Bridge or Al Garhoud bridge instead.

Bus commuters could also face delays on routes X13, X02, 8, 95, C01, C03, C07, C09, C18, E306 and X23 due to the closure.
