The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has passed away.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs sends its condolences to the people of the United Arab Emirates and the world over the demise of the President.
A 40-day mourning period has been declared in the country, starting today, with the national flag to be flown at half-mast.
Work will be suspended in ministries, federal and local institutions, and the private sector for three days, starting Saturday, May 14, with work to resume on Tuesday, May 17.

The Ministry of Presidential Affairs also announced that the UAE will observe a forty-day state mourning with the flag flown at half-mast starting today, and suspend work at all ministries, departments, and federal, local and private entities for three days.#WamNews— WAM English (@WAMNEWS_ENG) May 13, 2022
Funeral prayers for the late Sheikh Khalifa will be performed on Friday after the Maghrib prayer.
