Abu Dhabi Police have been sending out warnings via SMS instead of issuing fines to motorists involved in minor traffic violations.
During the first half of this year, as many as 25,383 such alerts were sent by the authority.
It's part of efforts to encourage positive driving behaviour and highlight the importance of following the rules.
The campaign does not cover serious offences, including running of red lights, over-tinted windows, and exceeding the speed limit.
