India suffered a shock 47-run defeat to New Zealand in their World T20 opener. Fielding first on a slow pitch, the hosts restricted the Black Caps to 126 for 7. However, they were then bowled out for just 79, with captain MS Dhoni scoring 30 of those runs. Mitchell Santner took 4 for 11 for New Zealand, after Corey Anderson top-scored with 34 in their innings.
