Stan Wawrinka has advanced to the final of the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship after Nick Kyrgios was forced to withdraw through injury. Wawrinka had taken the first set 6-4, 3-0 before Kyrgios called it quits citing a back injury. Kyrgios, who won his first ATP title in Marseille last week, had been struggling with the problem all week and had called the trainer after the seventh game of the opening set. The Australians’ withdrawal is the second to hit the tournament in 24 hours, after World Number 1 Novak Djokovic retired with an eye infection. Wawrinka shares how surprised he was to see the match end as it did.
